Miami-Dade Justice Association is proud to add to its
growing list of community service projects, KIDS (Kindness In Daily Service). Our first KIDS program is to adopt the Pediatric Oncology Unit at Jackson
Memorial Hospital. Miami-Dade Justice Association is collecting money, toys, and other needed items for the children year ‘round and delivering them as collected. In addition, we will be coordinating visits (events) at the
Unit throughout the year. Our first event was Monday, November 25, 2002 when we helped the children celebrate Thanksgiving. Click

Our second KIDS event was on April 22, 2003 when Miami-Dade Justice Association volunteers, students, and special guest star The Easter Bunny visited the children of Jackson Memorial Hostpital’s oncology unit and helped them celebrate Easter. Click here to read more...
On the 4th of July, 2005, Miami-Dade Justice Association members brought holiday cheer to the children in the Jackson Pediatric Oncology Unit. Click here for photos.
For the 4th of July 2007, we visited children at the Jackson Health System’s Holtz Children’s Hospital. Holtz Children’s Hospital has served the community since 1918. Holtz has 254 licensed beds on the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center campus, which is among the largest teaching hospitals and research centers in the country. Holtz provides pediatric care in all specialties. Click here for photos of our visit.

If any person or group wishes to visit the children or put on an event on behalf of KIDS, please contact Arthur Garcia, Jr. For the
health and safety of the children, visitiors are limited to groups of eight.

The items listed below are only recommendations based on the needs expressed by the Child Life Program at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Miami-Dade Justice
Association is committed to providing support year round to the children. The children’s needs are great so no gift(s) are too small or too big and there can never be enough. In addition to purchasing items, checks in any amount are
encouraged and should be made payable to Miami-Dade Justice Association.
Guidelines for donating gifts: Pre-owned toys are acceptable EXCEPT pre-owned
absorbent toys (e.g. stuffed animals) may not be given to pediatric patients for infection control reasons. Pre-owned toys and games should be clean, complete, and in good condition. (New items are encouraged). Violent toys, video games,
toy guns, and videos with greater than PG-13 rating may not be donated.
If you have any questions about making donations or participation, please contact Arthur Garcia, Jr. On behalf of Miami-Dade Justice Association and the
KIDS, thank you!
